Position Summary: The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is responsible for overseeing the implementation of medical protocols and providing patient care at Ibu Women’s Clinic, specifically focusing on the Abortion Program. The CNS works closely with the Medical Director to ensure high-quality patient care across various clinical areas, including the Procedure Room, Recovery Room, Lab, and Ultrasound. This individual will play a pivotal role in the management team, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure organizational procedures align with external regulators and accreditations.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the Abortion Program in collaboration with the Medical Director and Program Director.
Supervise nursing staff and manage administrative functions related to nursing care delivery, quality improvement, and risk assessment.
Provide perioperative care for women undergoing abortions, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.
Collaborate with the Nurse of the Day to supervise and provide first-line care on procedure days.
Oversee the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and ensure proper charting and scheduling.
Maintain adequate records and prepare statistical reports.
Collaborate with external medical and diagnostic facilities for patient care.
Engage in staff training and skill enhancement initiatives.
Actively participate in team meetings and advocacy for abortion care services.

Education/Experience:
Master’s degree in Nursing and registration with the College of Registered Nurses.
At least 5 years of clinical supervision experience.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
2 years of experience in program and systems development.
Experience in staff supervision, preferably in a unionized setting.
Demonstrated proficiency in public speaking, group facilitation, and health education.
