Healthcare Assistant/ Nurse Aid
Job Description
Aurelius Hospital Negeri Sembilan is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to support our clinical teams in delivering high-quality patient care across inpatient and outpatient services.
Key Responsibilities
Outpatient Services
Prepare consultation rooms and medical equipment for doctors’ examinations
Assist doctors during consultations and arrange follow-up treatments and investigations
Support patient flow, including preparation and ushering for examinations and procedures
Inpatient Care
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including feeding, positioning, mobility, and personal hygiene
Provide comfort care, prevent pressure sores, and assist with passive exercises/physiotherapy
Support febrile patient care, including tepid sponging and application of hot/cold compresses
Ensure patient safety at all times and promptly respond to patient needs and inquiries
Clinical & Administrative Support
Take, record, and update patients’ vital signs and clinical conditions in the EMR; report to the State Registered Nurse
Assist in specimen collection and maintain accurate patient records and charts
Perform charge entry in the Hospital Information System (HIS) and ensure billing accuracy
Assist with booking procedures and surgeries
Operational Duties
Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of consultation rooms, patient rooms, and clinical areas
Clean, disinfect, store, and prepare medical equipment and instruments as required
Assist in patient lifting, transfer, and transportation
Act as a chaperone during doctors’ rounds
Manage ward supplies and conduct weekly inventory checks
Undertake departmental errands and support daily unit operations
Leadership & Team Support
Provide guidance and supervision to junior Healthcare Assistants
Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors or hospital management
