Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic tests, including biochemical, hematology, microscopic, and bacteriological tests, to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and handle blood and tissue specimens for laboratory analysis.
Collect blood samples using aseptic techniques.
Perform calibration procedures and ensure the quality control values meet the acceptable criteria before analyzing patient samples.
Analyze and verify the acceptability of patient samples for testing.
Conduct various laboratory tests, including biochemical, hematology, and bacteriological tests.
Evaluate the reliability of test results based on patient demographics and specimen acceptability.
Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and arrange for repairs when necessary.
Manage inventory by ordering reagents and supplies to maintain optimal stock levels.
Record and document laboratory test results and assist in research activities as needed.
Ensure proper filing and maintenance of pathology and clinical laboratory files.
Process, type, test, and store blood samples according to the protocols.
Attend required meetings and seminars as directed.
Participate in proficiency surveys, performance improvement initiatives, and continuous education programs.
Provide training and technical guidance to new employees.
Ensure the department’s records and reports are up to date.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or Biomedical Sciences.
Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in laboratory settings, with the ability to run an individual department.
Valid annual practicing certificate (if applicable).
Proficient in phlebotomy and various laboratory techniques.
Strong knowledge of staining techniques, culture methods, and sterilization procedures.
Fluent in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.

Ethical, trustworthy, and discreet in handling patient information.
