Job Description

Darul Makmur Medical Centre is seeking a courteous, detail-oriented, and service-driven Receptionist / Patient Services Officer to support front desk operations and ensure a smooth, welcoming experience for patients and visitors. This role plays a vital part in maintaining efficient clinic workflow, patient confidentiality, and high standards of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Register patients accurately in accordance with hospital policies and procedures

Maintain and update medical records, reports, and required statistics

Communicate clinic policies clearly to patients and manage incoming and outgoing messages professionally

Organize and maintain all front desk documentation, forms, and office supplies

Uphold patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times

Open and prepare the reception area daily to ensure full operational readiness at the start of business hours

Greet patients, visitors, and medical representatives in a polite, professional, and welcoming manner

Direct patients and visitors to the appropriate departments and services efficiently

Assist patients in completing forms and required documentation accurately

Secure the reception area at the end of each shift, including shutdown of equipment and locking entrances per protocol

Support billing-related processes and perform additional administrative duties as assigned

Skills & Competencies

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Professional telephone etiquette and communication abilities

Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Multilingual abilities are an advantage

Working knowledge of patient billing procedures is preferred

Job Requirements

Minimum SPM qualification; Diploma in Healthcare, Accounting, or related field is preferred

Proficient oral and written communication in English and Bahasa Melayu

Basic clerical skills, including word processing, record management, and office procedures

Fundamental knowledge of arithmetic, basic statistics, and accounting

Demonstrates high standards of integrity, honesty, and professionalism

Willingness to work rotating shifts

Salary: From RM1,700 per month
