Job Description
Gleneagles Hospital Johor is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Cancer Centre Manager to lead and oversee the strategic, operational, and clinical management of our Radiation Oncology and Cancer Services Department.
This leadership role is responsible for ensuring clinical excellence, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and the highest standards of patient-centered cancer care.
🔹 Position Overview
The Cancer Centre Manager will provide strategic direction and operational leadership to ensure the department meets the hospital’s objectives while delivering safe, high-quality oncology services. The role involves comprehensive oversight of manpower planning, budgeting, quality assurance, radiation safety, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
• Lead and manage the Cancer Centre to meet hospital and patient care objectives
• Develop and manage annual budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation
• Plan and optimize manpower deployment to ensure efficient service delivery
• Ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining high clinical standards
Human Resource Management
• Oversee recruitment, staff development, competency management, and performance evaluations
• Plan and facilitate continuous education and training programs for staff and medical assistants
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture
Clinical & Technical Oversight
• Supervise the maintenance, quality assurance, and safe operation of radiation units, simulators, treatment planning systems, and related equipment
• Ensure accurate calibration and reliable operation of dosimetry equipment
• Perform or assist in radiotherapy treatment planning
• Collaborate with consultants, medical physicists, and radiation therapists to implement new treatment techniques and advancements
Quality, Compliance & Accreditation
• Develop, implement, and periodically review policies and procedures supporting radiation oncology services
• Support hospital accreditation initiatives (JCI, ISO, MSQH, and other quality systems)
• Work closely with the Radiation Protection Committee to ensure regulatory compliance
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff
Stakeholder & Interdepartmental Collaboration
• Maintain strong working relationships with medical staff and multidisciplinary teams
• Liaise with hospital administration to support strategic development initiatives
• Undertake additional responsibilities as delegated by hospital management.
🔹 Job Requirements
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Radiation Oncology
• Degree or Master’s in Medical Physics (mandatory)
• Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic management skills
• In-depth knowledge of radiation safety, quality assurance, and oncology service delivery
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
