Job Description
Gleneagles Hospital is seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiographer to be part of our advanced Imaging Department. This role is critical in supporting diagnostic and interventional procedures while ensuring patient safety and exceptional service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a wide range of imaging procedures, including:
General Radiography
Fluoroscopy
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Special Examinations
CT Scans
Bone Mineral Densitometry
Portable & Operating Theatre Radiography
Cardiac and General Angiograms
Produce high-quality diagnostic images with optimal exposure and minimal radiation dosage.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including the 10-day rule for female patients of reproductive age.
Apply appropriate radiation protection measures for patients, accompanying persons, and staff.
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms, equipment, and accessories.
Monitor and report equipment malfunctions to supervisors and the Imaging Manager promptly.
Confirm that patients are correctly prepared for procedures such as Barium Meals, IVU, CT, and Angiograms.
Maintain accurate service records and ensure all imaging services are properly recorded for billing.
Organize daily work schedules and assist with clerical duties as necessary.
Demonstrate leadership in continuous education, training, and departmental audits.
Participate in on-call duties outside regular working hours on a rotational basis.
Contribute actively to teamwork and department workflow optimization.
Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by superiors.
Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiography or Medical Imaging or equivalent.
Registered with the relevant professional body.
Strong knowledge of imaging techniques, safety protocols, and equipment handling.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
