Key Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
Chairside Assistance
Prepare dental instruments, materials, and equipment prior to each procedure.
Assist the dentist during treatments and surgeries by handing instruments, suctioning, and ensuring clear visibility throughout the procedure.
Infection Control & Sterilization
Adhere to strict infection-control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and equipment following established guidelines.
Patient Preparation
Welcome patients, ensure their comfort, and prepare them for dental procedures.
Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and relevant information accurately.
Radiography
Take and process dental X-rays, ensuring correct positioning and observing radiation safety standards.
Maintain X-ray images and documentation properly.
Record Keeping
Maintain accurate and updated patient treatment records, plans, and progress notes.
Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality and data protection regulations.
Clinical Support
Assist with a wide range of dental procedures such as cleanings, fillings, extractions, and root canal treatments.
Handle dental impressions, cast models, and clinical materials as required.
Administrative Responsibilities
Appointment Management
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments efficiently.
Maintain a well-organized appointment calendar to support smooth clinic operations.
Patient Communication
Provide patients with information about treatment plans, post-operative instructions, and upcoming appointments.
Respond professionally to patient inquiries and concerns.
Inventory & Supplies Management
Monitor and replenish dental supplies and materials.
Maintain inventory records and coordinate orders when stock is low.
Patient Care Responsibilities
Patient Comfort
Ensure patients feel relaxed, safe, and supported throughout their visit.
Provide reassurance to help reduce patient anxiety.
Oral Health Education
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices such as proper brushing and flossing.
Provide guidance on aftercare and post-treatment instructions.
Health & Safety
Follow health and safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials and clinical waste.
Assist in managing medical emergencies according to clinic procedures.
Radiation Protection
Radiation Safety Compliance
Follow proper radiation protection measures during X-ray procedures.
Educate patients about safety precautions related to radiography.
Team Collaboration
Teamwork & Support
Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and the clinical team to provide seamless patient care.
Support both clinical and administrative functions as required.
