Clinical Psychologist Position at IMU University
Job Summary:
Deliver on-site professional and confidential psychological services including diagnosis, assessment, support, and therapy for students.
Conduct necessary diagnoses and assessments, including evaluations for potential students during the enrollment process and provide psychological interventions for current students.
Provide professional and confidential therapy to students on-site.
Coordinate referrals as needed.
Manage and liaise with appointed Mental Health providers.
Identify and source necessary resources such as treatment facilities, shelters, online resources for psychoeducation, and self-help books.
Oversee case management, including case consultation and reporting with appointed centers.
Update the Dean on students’ fitness for practice in accordance with IMU protocols.
Handle contract renewals and payments to appointed centers.
Provide case consultation and follow-up on students’ mental health issues for both the team and staff supporting the students.
Offer supervision and support for the team as necessary.
Plan and implement developmental, preventive, and remedial programs for students at both main and clinical campuses, such as workshops for students, mentor and staff training, and training for Peer Support Club members.
Review and enhance the SOP for crisis management (mental health) at main and clinical campuses based on emerging needs.
Provide professional advice and suggestions to improve IMU’s SOP for managing and supporting students with mental health issues.
Handle reporting and documentation as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
1-3 years of experience in providing psychological interventions (assessment, support, and therapy).
Hold a current practicing certificate registered with the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP) and under the Allied Health Professions Act, 2016 (Act 774) once it comes into force.
Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to continuous professional development.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Possess effective communication skills.
High proficiency in oral and written English.
Experience in group training and group therapy.
Willingness to travel.
