Job Description

Kuching Specialist Hospital is seeking a qualified and dedicated Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Patient Management

Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement appropriate rehabilitation interventions for patients.

Provide professional physiotherapy services to patients in accordance with established clinical guidelines and best practices.

Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment programs to achieve optimal rehabilitation outcomes.

Ensure patients and their families receive appropriate guidance, education, and support throughout the rehabilitation process.

Maintain the highest standards of patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality during all treatment procedures.

Professional Standards & Clinical Excellence

Uphold internationally recognized physiotherapy standards and professional ethics in all aspects of practice.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records in accordance with hospital policies.

Report and document any incidents or accidents involving patients or visitors under physiotherapy care.

Identify and report faulty equipment or machinery, ensuring timely follow-up and corrective action.

Quality Improvement & Professional Development

Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, departmental projects, and new service developments introduced by the hospital.

Engage in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities to enhance clinical knowledge and physiotherapy skills.

Support initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and enhancing healthcare service delivery.

Safety, Compliance & Hospital Standards

Comply with all hospital policies, Integrated Management System (IMS) standards, and accreditation requirements.

Adhere to occupational safety and health regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for staff and patients.

Use appropriate protective equipment and follow safety procedures as required.

Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals and international safety standards, including recommendations from the World Alliance for Patient Safety.

Respect and uphold patients’ and families’ rights at all times.

Participate actively in 5S workplace improvement initiatives and adhere to Standard People Practice (SPP) guidelines.

Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.

Professional Certification

Possession of a valid Practicing Certificate issued by the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC) or an equivalent professional regulatory body.

Work Experience

Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in physiotherapy practice.

5 years or more of experience in a hospital, ambulatory care center, or related healthcare setting will be considered an advantage.
