Job Description
Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Officer to join our multidisciplinary oncology team. This role is ideal for a doctor who values patient-centered care, professional growth, and meaningful work within a mission-driven cancer care environment.
As a Medical Officer, you will provide holistic, culturally sensitive, and patient-focused medical care to both in-patients and out-patients undergoing cancer treatment. You will work closely with oncologists, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure patients receive coordinated, safe, and supportive care throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive and individualized care to oncology patients across inpatient and outpatient settings
Collaborate closely with oncologists and the nursing team to provide clinical support, patient guidance, and education
Participate in continuity of care by coordinating with primary and secondary healthcare providers
Ensure all services, procedures, and interventions are accurately recorded, billed, and aligned with established protocols
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the PMS system
Uphold professional standards, maintain clinical competencies through continuous medical education, and meet MMC/MOH requirements
Maintain strict confidentiality and respect patient rights in all interactions
Participate in scheduled shift rotations and provide support beyond regular hours when required (e.g. meetings, training)
Maintain proper clinical documentation to support medico-legal requirements
Support and assist with treatment plans developed by oncology consultants
Requirements:
Fully registered with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) and holds a valid APC
Minimum 4 years of clinical experience
Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient-engagement skills
Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Willing to work shifts and participate in on-call or after-hours responsibilities
Experience or interest in palliative or hospice care is an added advantage

Treatment planning is performed by oncology specialists; Medical Officers assist in implementation and patient support
