Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Clinic Assistant to support daily clinic operations and deliver high-quality patient care. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment and are passionate about ensuring a seamless patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Clinic Operations & Patient Care
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of outpatient and consultation areas
Prepare and manage patient records, files, and laboratory reports
Set up consultation rooms according to doctors’ requirements
Provide courteous, professional, and empathetic assistance to patients
Act as a chaperone during examinations to ensure patient comfort and safety
Clinical Support
Assist doctors with basic clinical procedures (e.g., dressings, suctioning, blood collection)
Manage patient flow and guide patients into consultation rooms
Record patient vitals such as height and weight
Conduct basic tests (e.g., urine dipstick) and coordinate lab sample dispatch
Support nurses in maintaining medical instruments and equipment
Administration & Customer Service
Schedule appointments for walk-in and phone enquiries efficiently
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
Provide accurate information on clinic services and doctor availability
Assist with billing processes and patient registration when required
Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining professional grooming standards
Inventory & Supplies
Assist in ordering, replenishing, and managing clinic supplies
Ensure adequate stock levels and proper maintenance of equipment
Training & Team Collaboration
Participate in training programs (in-house or external)
Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and support staff
Perform additional duties assigned by management when required
Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum SPM or equivalent
Skills & Competencies
Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting is an advantage
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Good telephone etiquette and patient-handling ability
Basic computer literacy
Willingness to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Flexible, reliable, and willing to be deployed as needed
