Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse / Medical Assistant to join our Operating Theatre (OT) and Ward team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in Orthopaedics and be committed to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operating Theatre (OT)
Deliver safe and high-quality perioperative nursing care to all surgical patients.
Function as a scrub nurse or circulating nurse during surgical procedures, ensuring strict adherence to OT protocols.
Maintain high standards of aseptic technique and implement Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) SOPs.
Ensure all medical equipment and surgical instruments are in optimal working condition; report faults promptly.
Oversee proper sterilization, storage, and usage of surgical instruments in compliance with organizational guidelines.
Monitor availability and expiry of surgical supplies and medications.
Maintain accurate inventory records for consumables, drugs, instruments, and equipment.
Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the department.
Ward Duties
Provide direct patient care including medication administration, IV line management, and patient monitoring.
Observe, assess, and document patients’ conditions accurately and promptly.
Collaborate with doctors and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive multidisciplinary care.
Ensure proper documentation of nursing notes and patient reports.
Assist patients with activities of daily living.
Maintain compliance with MOH regulations and evidence-based nursing practices.
Uphold strict confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements
Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Nursing / Medical Assistant or equivalent qualification.
Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board (LJM).
Valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC) / Annual Renewal Certificate (ARC).
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English (additional languages are an advantage).
Willing to learn, take initiative, and assume responsibility.
Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and be based in TTDI.
