Job Description

Regency Specialist Hospital Sdn Bhd is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Pharmacist to support the effective delivery of safe, high-quality pharmaceutical services within the hospital setting. This role plays a key part in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and optimal medication management across the Pharmacy Department.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy Department, including Drug Store (DST) and Central Drug Repository (CDR) services

Review and assess new drug requests from medical practitioners and provide professional recommendations to the Pharmacy Head of Department and the Drugs & Therapeutics Subcommittee for inclusion or exclusion from the Hospital Drug Formulary

Monitor and manage inventory levels to maintain optimal stock holding, minimize wastage, and meet established stock-holding targets

Plan and track stock expiry, usage trends, and variances, ensuring alignment with approved budgets

Lead, supervise, train, and evaluate DST and CDR staff, including workforce planning, scheduling, task allocation, and performance management

Contribute to departmental planning and budgeting for pharmacy operational requirements

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical developments, clinical pharmacy practices, and regulatory requirements

Provide accurate, timely, and evidence-based drug information to medical practitioners, healthcare professionals, and the public

Ensure proper storage, control, documentation, and dispensing of Psychotropic, Dangerous, and Controlled Drugs in full compliance with statutory and regulatory guidelines

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy recognized by the Malaysian Pharmacy Board

Successfully passed the Pharmacy Forensic Examination

Registered with the Pharmacy Board Malaysia

Member of the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society (MPS/MMPS)

Possess a valid Annual Retention Certificate (ARC) and Type A Poison License

Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting, with hands-on exposure to inventory management
