MEDICAL LAB SCIENTIST
Job Description
Subang Jaya Medical Centre is seeking a dedicated Medical Lab Scientist – Cytogenetics to join our team at Subang Jaya Medical Centre. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing specialized genetic testing and analysis to support accurate diagnosis and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct cell culture, Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) testing, and karyotyping with precision.
Analyze and interpret Cytogenetics test results to support clinical decision-making.
Assist in quality control (QC) and external quality assessment (EQA) to maintain laboratory standards.
Ensure compliance with MS ISO 15189 Laboratory Accreditation guidelines for testing and reporting.
Monitor and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring adherence to preventive maintenance protocols (PPM) for optimal performance.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Biomedical Science, Genetics, or a related field.
Experience in a cytogenetics/genetics laboratory or familiarity with aseptic techniques, cell culture, FISH, or karyotyping is preferred.
Fresh graduates with a BSc in Genetics are encouraged to apply.
Strong understanding of medical genetics and general medical terminology.
