Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Room Physician to provide high-quality medical care to patients in the Emergency Department. This role ensures prompt assessment, treatment, and coordination with consultants while maintaining adherence to hospital policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver professional medical care to patients in the Emergency Room, following established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Promptly refer patients to Consultants as required and keep the relevant Consultant informed of patient admissions.
Assist Consultants in immediate treatment and management of patients in the Emergency Room.
Perform phlebotomy, intravenous line insertions, and other necessary procedures for inpatients and emergency patients.
Provide medical support during patient transfers locally or overseas.
Respond to Code Blue calls, acting as the primary medical responder until relieved by a Consultant or Primary Physician.
Collaborate with other units and ancillary departments to ensure proper support services for Emergency Room, Resuscitation Room, and Staff Health Clinic.
Prescribe appropriate screening and vaccination programs for patients.
Conduct and assist in training programs for Emergency Room nursing and ancillary staff.
Identify, treat, and manage communicable, infectious, and sexually transmitted diseases.
Assist Radiologists with intravenous contrast administration during high-demand periods.
Perform minor surgical procedures including suturing, catheterization, incision, and drainage as appropriate.
Accompany critically ill patients during transfers to other healthcare facilities.
Requirements
Medical Degree from a recognized university.
Valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) to practice in Malaysia.
Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in Emergency Room or related field.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
