Locum – Resident Medical Officer (Health Screening)
Job Description
Sunway Medical Centre Ipoh is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Medical Officer to join our Health Screening Services team. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality preventive healthcare and personalized medical consultations to support early detection and long-term patient wellbeing.
Job Purpose
To provide comprehensive medical consultation services for health screening clients, ensuring a professional, accurate, and patient-centred experience throughout the screening process.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough medical consultations for health screening clients, including detailed medical history taking and physical examinations
Review, analyze, and interpret health screening results accurately and professionally
Clearly explain health screening packages, procedures, and clinical findings to patients
Perform basic medical procedures when required
Identify abnormal findings and make appropriate referrals to specialists or consultants
Provide personalized medical advice and counselling based on screening outcomes
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all clinical findings in the Hospital Information System (HIS)
Maintain high standards of professionalism, patient confidentiality, and service quality
Qualifications & Requirements
Recognized Medical Degree from an accredited university
Fully registered with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC)
Possess a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
Minimum 3 years of experience in primary healthcare or preventive medicine will be an advantage
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach
Comfortable using digital systems and hospital information systems for clinical documentation
