Resident Medical Officer (ICU & General Wards)
Job Description
Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara is seeking a skilled and committed Resident Medical Officer (RMO) to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical competency, sound decision-making skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide medical support and patient management in critical care units, close observation areas, and inpatient wards
Respond promptly to urgent and emergency cases requiring medical attention across all assigned units
Conduct regular ward rounds and attend to patients as requested by consultants or nursing staff
Follow consultant instructions and perform medical procedures as required, including IV insertion, emergency ECG, and other interventions
Attend and manage Code Blue situations and life-threatening emergencies
Assist with the safe transfer and monitoring of critically ill patients for radiological investigations, procedures, or transfer to operating theatres or Cath Lab
Assist in verifying and certifying death for critically ill patients when consultants are unavailable, in coordination with Nursing Administration
Support and ensure efficient clinical workflow within ICU and close observation units
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of all treatments, interventions, and patient care activities
Maintain ongoing communication with consultants and nursing teams to ensure continuity and quality of patient care
Job Requirements:
MBBS degree from a recognized and Ministry of Health–approved medical institution
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in ICU within a reputable private medical centre or major public hospital
Strong clinical skills, teamwork, and the ability to handle high-pressure emergency situations
