We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Officer (Emergency Department) to deliver prompt, high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Perform rapid and accurate assessment of patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and emergencies
\nConduct primary and secondary (triage) assessments through history taking, examination, and investigations
\nInitiate immediate management including resuscitation, stabilization, diagnosis, treatment, and referral
\nDevelop and implement appropriate treatment plans based on clinical findings
\nMonitor and manage patients in emergency settings, including critically ill and high-dependency cases
\nInterpret diagnostic tests and make informed clinical decisions for further interventions
\nAdminister medications and perform procedures within the scope of a Medical Officer, including minor surgical procedures
\nPrescribe medications responsibly and inform patients about potential risks, complications, and drug interactions
\nProvide counselling, psychological support, and health education to patients and families
\nCommunicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare teams regarding treatment plans and progress
\nCoordinate patient care and facilitate timely transfer to appropriate departments or healthcare facilities
\nMaintain accurate, detailed, and timely medical records in compliance with legal and clinical standards
\nEnsure adherence to clinical protocols, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements
\nCollaborate effectively with nurses and multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient department operations
\nParticipate in emergency preparedness activities, drills, and continuous improvement initiatives
\nReport incidents through proper channels in line with risk management policies
\nPerform any other duties as assigned by the superior<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Medical Degree from a recognized university
\nValid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) to practice in Malaysia
\nMinimum 3 years of experience in Emergency Department or related field
\nStrong communication, clinical judgment, and problem-solving skills
\nAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
\nTeam-oriented with a proactive and responsible attitude<\/p>\n
Compliance to Risk and Quality Standards<\/p>\n
Comply with all applicable laws and professional standards, including the Medical Act 1971
\nParticipate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives
\nReport any incidents through appropriate channels<\/p>\n
Training and Development<\/p>\n
Attend Continuous Medical Education (CME) and achieve required APC points annually
