Sunway Medical Centre Penang is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. As part of the clinical operations team, you will play a critical role in facilitating timely admissions, coordinating patient transfers, and maintaining effective communication among healthcare teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care and operational excellence.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities
\nCoordinate and allocate hospital beds based on clinical urgency, infection control requirements, gender and age considerations, and specialty-specific needs.
\nManage urgent patient admissions from the Emergency Department (ED), Operating Theatre (OT), Day Care\/Day Ward, and direct specialist referrals.
\nFacilitate smooth and timely patient transfers between departments to ensure continuity of care.
\nMonitor and optimize hospital bed utilization to support efficient patient flow and resource management.
\nMaintain accurate patient information and ensure timely data entry and submission of daily operational reports.
\nRespond promptly to emergency codes and coordinate the necessary actions in accordance with hospital protocols.
\nFoster strong interdepartmental collaboration and effective communication to enhance service delivery.
\nProvide ongoing support, guidance, and supervision to nursing and support staff when required.
\nEnsure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and quality assurance practices.
\nContribute to maintaining a safe, patient-centered environment while delivering compassionate nursing care.<\/p>\n
Requirements
\nDiploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
\nRegistered Nurse with the Malaysia Nursing Board and possession of a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
\nWillingness to work night shifts and adapt to operational requirements.
\nStrong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail.
\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
\nDemonstrated commitment to patient safety, infection control, and high standards of professional nursing practice.
\nAbility to remain calm and make sound decisions in fast-paced and high-pressure situations.<\/p>\n
