Sunway Medical Centre Penang is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Officer \u2013 Accident & Emergency (A&E) to join our dynamic emergency care team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering timely, high-quality emergency medical care, ensuring patient safety, effective clinical management, and seamless coordination with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities
\nClinical Responsibilities
\nPerform comprehensive primary and secondary assessments (triage) and provide immediate management of emergency patients.
\nAccurately document vital signs and initiate appropriate resuscitation measures based on patient priority and clinical condition.
\nDeliver prompt and effective emergency procedures, treatments, and patient management.
\nMaintain continuous situational awareness and ensure timely referrals to the appropriate consultants and specialists.
\nCommunicate clinical findings and patient updates effectively during referrals and shift handovers.
\nAdhere to hospital clinical protocols, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in all aspects of patient care.
\nEnsure high standards of patient safety, quality care, and professional medical practice.
\nAdministrative & Organizational Responsibilities
\nExecute work processes and clinical procedures in accordance with hospital policies, SOPs, and technical requirements.
\nParticipate in continuous medical education, training programs, and professional development activities to stay updated on emerging healthcare trends and diseases.
\nSupport hospital initiatives and community outreach programs, including health talks, medical screenings, and blood donation campaigns.
\nContribute to accreditation, compliance, quality assurance, and regulatory activities within the organization.
\nParticipate in the development, review, and evaluation of emergency and critical care clinical practice protocols in compliance with legal and organizational standards.<\/p>\n
Requirements
\nMedical Degree recognized and registered with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
\nMinimum 5 years of clinical experience in Accident & Emergency and Primary Healthcare settings.
\nStrong clinical judgment, emergency management, and patient care skills.
\nExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a compassionate approach to patient care.
\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
\nStrong teamwork, professionalism, and commitment to clinical excellence.<\/p>\n
