\nKey Responsibilities
\nStaff Nurse \u2013 General Anaesthesia (GA)<\/p>\n
As a GA Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting patients throughout the perioperative journey by:<\/p>\n
Delivering safe and efficient nursing care in accordance with Operating Theatre policies and procedures.
\nPreparing, organizing, and maintaining a clean and safe operating theatre environment.
\nInspecting and monitoring surgical and anaesthetic equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
\nManaging patient admission and care in the pre-operative holding bay.
\nAssisting with patient positioning while ensuring comfort and safety.
\nSupporting the Anaesthetist during procedures as required.
\nSafely handling, checking, witnessing, and administering controlled and scheduled medications.
\nMaintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection prevention standards.
\nProviding comprehensive post-operative care in the recovery bay.
\nMonitoring airway patency, vital signs, pain management, and identifying post-operative complications before patient handover.
\nCoordinating with ward staff for smooth patient transfers.
\nReporting operating list changes to the Senior Nurse, Head Nurse, or Theatre Coordinator.
\nStaff Nurse \u2013 Scrub<\/p>\n
As a Scrub Nurse, you will contribute to safe and efficient surgical procedures by:<\/p>\n
Performing duties as a Scrub Nurse or Circulating Nurse in accordance with Operating Theatre policies.
\nPreparing sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies before surgery.
\nConducting instrument, swab, and needle counts with another nurse and reporting results to the Surgeon.
\nAssisting the surgical team throughout operative procedures.
\nPreparing and cleaning operating theatres before and after surgery.
\nAssisting with patient positioning while ensuring safety and comfort.
\nHandling, labeling, and dispatching surgical specimens accurately.
\nMaintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
\nMonitoring the performance and functionality of surgical equipment.
\nProviding support to Surgeons during operative procedures.
\nMaintaining accurate patient documentation and theatre records.
\nReporting changes to operating schedules to the Senior Nurse, Head Nurse, or Theatre Coordinator.
\nCoordinating the booking and availability of specialized equipment, implants, instruments, and surgical supplies prior to scheduled procedures.<\/p>\n
What We’re Looking For
\nRegistered Nurse with a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC) or relevant professional registration.
\nExperience in Operating Theatre, General Anaesthesia, or Scrub Nursing is highly preferred.
\nStrong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and infection prevention protocols.
\nExcellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
\nAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
