Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Registered Nurse (Ophthalmic Nurse) to support the delivery of high-quality eye care services. This role combines clinical expertise, patient coordination, and administrative responsibilities to ensure a seamless and efficient patient experience while assisting ophthalmologists and diagnostic teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist physicians in delivering patient care and performing ophthalmic diagnostic procedures
Prepare patients for examinations, administer medications (including eye drops), and ensure accurate documentation of diagnostic results
Perform basic ophthalmic diagnostic tests under supervision, including corneal topography, aberrometry, biometry, visual field testing, optical coherence tomography, and specular microscopy
Ensure safe medication administration by adhering to established safety protocols (Time Out, Triple Check, and 5 Rights)
Coordinate genetic testing processes with physicians, patients, and external providers
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring all instruments and materials are complete and functional
Maintain accurate patient records and support data encoding in clinic monitoring systems
Verify completeness of patient documentation and ensure readiness for upcoming clinic schedules
Assist in generating reports and supporting clinic data analysis
Ensure proper turnover and organization of examination rooms and equipment
Optimize patient flow and coordinate patient movement within the clinic
Communicate treatment plans and guide patients through procedures and processes
Assist with cost estimates and coordinate insurance approvals when required
Provide mentorship and training to new nursing staff
Support performance evaluations and identify training and development needs
Assist in administrative tasks such as reporting, logistics, and departmental coordination

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license
Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience
Preferably with Basic and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (BLS/ACLS) certification
IV Therapy certification is an advantage
Strong clinical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
