Job Description
The Cardiovascular Technician shall administer tests using cardiology-related equipment to cardiology patients. The Cardiovascular Technician shall also assist doctors with non-invasive procedures and consultation.
Cardiology Unit:
- Help perform echocardiography, electrocardiograms, Holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure, electrocardiogram (ECG), stress tests, and other imaging exams for patients with cardiac disease.
- Monitor the patient blood pressure and heart rate using ECG equipment during diagnostic or therapeutic procedures to notify the physician if something appears wrong. Adjusts equipment and controls according to the physicians’ order or established protocol.
- Obtain and record patient identification, medical history, or test results.
- Explain testing procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety. Monitors the patient’s comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in their responses.
- Attaches electrodes to the patient’s chests, connects electrodes to leads from the ECG machine, and operates the ECG machine to obtain a reading. Observes gauges, recorders, and video screens of data analysis system during imaging of the cardiovascular system.
- Maintain a good relationship with patients.
- Effectively and rapidly resolve client requests.
- Prepares for examinations by checking equipment; doing inventory and restocking supplies; reviewing patient schedules; reading physician orders for specific exams, setting up recording equipment; and entering patient information into the system.
- Protect patients by adhering to safety policies and protocols.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and protects operations by keeping information confidential and cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities/seminars/conventions and professional organizations, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
- Deal with queries from within the team through various channels (coordination Viber group chat, phone calls, emails, and text messages)
- Close coordination with the patient booking team concerning the booking of Cardiology appointments
- Suggest cost-saving strategies to the management.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Management and as required by Clinic Operations.
Education: Graduate of any medical-related course
Minimum Experience: 1 year working experience in Clinic or Hospital
Skills/Competencies:
- Knowledgeable and preferably certified in handling and maintenance of machines like ECG/EKG
- Treadmill Exercise Test, 24-hour Holter Monitor, 24 Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor, and 2d-Echocardiogram
- Knowledgeable in facilitating procedures like Treadmill Stress Tests, 24-hour Holter monitoring, Resting EKG/ECG, 24 ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and 2d-echocardiogram procedures can administer medication
- Good listening and speaking skills
- Attentive to details
- Dexterity; stamina
- Knows infection control, safety, and health standards.
