Medical Technologist/Phlebotomist

Responsibilities:

• Laboratory Testing:
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including but not limited to hematology, chemistry, and microbiology.
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through proper specimen handling, preparation, and analysis.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance.
• Phlebotomy Services:
  • Collect blood specimens from patients using proper venipuncture techniques.
  • Verify patient information and ensure accurate labeling of specimens.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure a positive patient experience during the phlebotomy process.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Adhere to established quality control procedures and participate in proficiency testing.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Record and report test results accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain detailed records of laboratory procedures, equipment maintenance, and quality control measures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) is required.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
• Previous experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
