We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Registered Nurse (Ophthalmic Nurse) to support the delivery of high-quality eye care services. This role combines clinical expertise, patient coordination, and administrative responsibilities to ensure a seamless and efficient patient experience while assisting ophthalmologists and diagnostic teams.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Assist physicians in delivering patient care and performing ophthalmic diagnostic procedures
\nPrepare patients for examinations, administer medications (including eye drops), and ensure accurate documentation of diagnostic results
\nPerform basic ophthalmic diagnostic tests under supervision, including corneal topography, aberrometry, biometry, visual field testing, optical coherence tomography, and specular microscopy
\nEnsure safe medication administration by adhering to established safety protocols (Time Out, Triple Check, and 5 Rights)
\nCoordinate genetic testing processes with physicians, patients, and external providers
\nPrepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring all instruments and materials are complete and functional
\nMaintain accurate patient records and support data encoding in clinic monitoring systems
\nVerify completeness of patient documentation and ensure readiness for upcoming clinic schedules
\nAssist in generating reports and supporting clinic data analysis
\nEnsure proper turnover and organization of examination rooms and equipment
\nOptimize patient flow and coordinate patient movement within the clinic
\nCommunicate treatment plans and guide patients through procedures and processes
\nAssist with cost estimates and coordinate insurance approvals when required
\nProvide mentorship and training to new nursing staff
\nSupport performance evaluations and identify training and development needs
\nAssist in administrative tasks such as reporting, logistics, and departmental coordination<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Nursing
\nRegistered Nurse (RN) with a valid license
\nMinimum 1\u20132 years of nursing experience
\nPreferably with Basic and\/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (BLS\/ACLS) certification
\nIV Therapy certification is an advantage
\nStrong clinical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
\nExcellent communication and customer service skills
\nDetail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment<\/p>\n
