Hospital Sarikei
Overview
Hospital Sarikei, established in 1961 on Jalan Repok, initially featured 40 beds and was inaugurated by Mr. Leong Ming Tak, Chairman of the Sarikei District Council, on December 22, 1962. Over the years, it has been a cornerstone of healthcare for the residents of Bandar Sarikei and surrounding areas, serving as a referral hospital for four health clinics and 16 village clinics. In 2006, the new Hospital Sarikei, located approximately 6km from the city center on Jalan Rentap, commenced operations. With a sprawling 38-hectare campus, it boasts modern infrastructure, including a Medical Complex, Medical Block, Staff Residential Block, Nurses’ Hostel, Support Services Building, Sports Arena, Parking Facilities, and Helipad. Initially equipped with 112 beds, it now operates with 182 beds and has plans to expand to accommodate up to 268 beds.
