The hospital caters to Kulim, Bandar Baru, Seberang Perai Tengah, Seberang Perai Selatan, and the Baling district. With 12 wards and 281 beds, it evolved from a district hospital to offering specialist services in 1996, including Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Anesthesia, Medicine, Surgery, and Orthopedics.
