Job Description
Aurelius Hospital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager / Unit Head to lead and oversee clinical and administrative operations within the assigned unit. This role is responsible for ensuring high standards of patient care, operational efficiency, staff performance, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
Provide direct patient care and supervise nursing services within the assigned unit
Ensure adherence to established clinical standards, protocols, and best practices
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff
Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, transfers, and overall patient flow
Promote effective communication and collaboration across departments
Integrate patient safety and quality improvement initiatives into clinical care
Support Nursing Leadership in implementing operational strategies
Operational & Administrative Management
Oversee daily operations of the unit, ensuring efficiency and service excellence
Monitor and address patient feedback and service quality issues
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
Track and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), including quality, safety, and patient satisfaction
Manage unit budgets, resource allocation, and cost control initiatives
Ensure availability and proper maintenance of medical equipment and supplies
Support accreditation, audit processes, and continuous quality improvement programs
People Management & Development
Supervise, evaluate, and provide ongoing feedback to nursing staff and healthcare providers
Conduct performance appraisals and support staff development and training initiatives
Participate in recruitment, selection, and onboarding of nursing personnel
Address staff performance issues and ensure adherence to attendance and conduct standards
Ensure staff meet required competencies, certifications, and training requirements
Technology & Systems
Ensure effective use of hospital IT systems and electronic medical records
Support and train staff in utilizing clinical and operational digital tools
Risk & Compliance
Identify and manage clinical risks, incidents, and safety concerns
Ensure appropriate measures are implemented for incidents, near misses, and emergency situations
Maintain compliance with local and international healthcare regulations and accreditation standards
Qualifications & Requirements
Registered Nurse with relevant qualifications and valid practicing license
Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a hospital setting
Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Knowledge of hospital operations, patient safety standards, and quality management systems
Proficiency in IT systems and hospital information systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
