Job Description:
Performs a wide range of routine and specialized laboratory examinations and procedures in the assigned section to support patient diagnosis and treatment. This includes but is not limited to hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and blood banking.
Analyzes the results of complex scientific tests on blood and body fluids using advanced laboratory equipment, technology, and techniques to ensure accuracy and precision of results.
Prepares and releases laboratory reports/results to concerned patients and their relatives in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to established protocols and policies.
Maintains the proper processing, handling, and storage of specimens to ensure the integrity and quality of samples. This includes proper labeling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Responsible for evaluating the quality of reagents used in laboratory tests to ensure consistent and reliable results. This includes monitoring expiration dates, lot numbers, and performance characteristics of reagents.
Maintains and controls the cleanliness and orderliness of the department to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards. This includes daily cleaning and disinfection of laboratory equipment and surfaces, and proper disposal of bio-hazardous waste.
Performs other duties as assigned by the laboratory director or supervisor, which may include participation in quality improvement activities, training of new staff, or assisting with laboratory research projects.
