Job Description

UERM Memorial Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Neurophysiology Technician to join our specialized healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in performing and assisting with neurodiagnostic procedures to support the accurate diagnosis and management of neurological conditions. This position requires strong technical expertise, excellent patient care skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
Assess patients’ general medical condition and provide clear explanations regarding neurodiagnostic procedures, including their purpose, benefits, potential risks, and pre-procedure instructions.
Perform specialized neurophysiological procedures such as Electroencephalography (EEG), Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), and Evoked Potential (EP) tests as prescribed by licensed physicians.
Conduct prolonged EEG monitoring and ensure accurate acquisition of diagnostic data.
Monitor patients throughout testing procedures, identify and document artifacts or external interferences, and accurately measure electrical activity in peripheral nerves.
Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams regarding patients’ conditions and diagnostic findings when necessary.
Accurately encode patient information, process procedural charges, and prepare diagnostic reports and results in a timely manner.
Maintain organized and complete patient records, laboratory documentation, and procedural files.
Ensure that neurophysiology equipment, accessories, and supplies are properly maintained, calibrated, and readily available for clinical use.
Generate and maintain required departmental reports, including monthly procedure census and annual operational reports.
Provide mentorship and supervision to Junior Neurophysiology Technicians, supporting their professional development and adherence to established clinical standards.
Assist Senior Neurophysiology Technicians II and III in implementing departmental policies, processes, and workflow improvements to ensure efficient operations within the unit.
Strictly observe infection prevention and control protocols, patient safety measures, and institutional safety standards.
Uphold the highest level of confidentiality and data security in compliance with applicable patient privacy and confidentiality regulations.
Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in an Allied Health discipline from a recognized institution.
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience in neurophysiology or a related field.
Formal training and demonstrated competency in EEG, EMG-NCV, and other neurophysiology procedures.
Willingness to work on rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a patient-centered approach to care.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Can start immediately.
