Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate, highly skilled, and dedicated Staff Nurse / Senior Staff Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role is ideal for nursing professionals passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in Endoscopy, Daycare, and Ward settings. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring patient safety, supporting clinical procedures, and contributing to a high standard of healthcare excellence through professional nursing care and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Endoscopy Care & Procedure Support
Prepare procedure rooms and ensure all endoscopy equipment and instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, functional, and ready for use.
Assist medical specialists during various endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, and other diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
Monitor patients’ vital signs before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and clinical stability.
Manage patient recovery following sedation, ensuring proper observation, comfort, and safe discharge processes.
Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control protocols, including the proper handling, cleaning, and disinfection of scopes and medical instruments.
Ward Nursing & Patient Care
Deliver comprehensive bedside nursing care, including patient monitoring, medication administration, wound management, and routine nursing assessments.
Support doctors and healthcare teams during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures conducted within the ward.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential nursing documentation, patient records, and clinical reports to ensure continuity of care.
Patient Safety & Multidisciplinary Collaboration
Work closely with doctors, allied health professionals, and fellow nursing staff to deliver integrated, patient-centered healthcare services.
Ensure compliance with hospital safety regulations, hygiene standards, and infection control practices to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Provide emotional support, reassurance, and clear communication to patients and their families, promoting a positive healthcare experience.
Professional Development & Quality Improvement
Participate actively in training programs, continuous professional development (CPD), and competency enhancement activities.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at improving patient care standards, service efficiency, and clinical excellence.
Stay updated on the latest nursing practices, clinical guidelines, and healthcare innovations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC) issued by the Malaysian Nursing Board.
Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in Endoscopy, Daycare, or Medical-Surgical Ward settings.
Strong knowledge of endoscopic procedures, sedation management protocols, and infection prevention practices.
Excellent observation, critical thinking, and emergency response skills with the ability to act promptly under pressure.
Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
