Resident Medical Officer (Emergency Department)

We are looking for an experienced Resident Medical Officer (RMO) to provide comprehensive medical examinations, consultations, and emergency care to patients in the Emergency Department. The successful candidate will deliver timely, high-quality medical services in line with hospital policies, professional standards, and consultants’ guidance, while supporting the smooth operation of the department and the hospital’s quality objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities
Participate in rotational duty rosters to provide 24-hour medical coverage for the hospital.
Examine, assess, and treat patients as a Resident Medical Officer.
Provide medical care for emergency cases and refer patients to the appropriate on-call or consulting specialists when required.
Attend to ward patients during emergencies or as requested by consultants.
Carry out medical procedures and follow consultants’ instructions, including IV drips, emergency ECGs, and other necessary treatments.
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely patient medical records.
Work closely with nursing staff and consultants to ensure continuity and quality of patient care.
Provide medical support for staff health matters when required.
Collaborate with the Nursing Administration team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Emergency Department.
Participate in in-house training programmes, hospital committees, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Keep clinical knowledge up to date and actively contribute to departmental and hospital quality indicators.
Coordinate and support mortuary procedures, including staff training and routine audits.
Contribute to Code Yellow (internal emergency) preparedness through protocol reviews and staff drills.
Support MSQH accreditation activities, including internal audits and staff engagement.
Perform any other duties assigned by Hospital Management.

Qualifications & Experience
MBBS or an equivalent medical qualification from a recognised institution.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in an Accident & Emergency (A&E) Department.
Experience in a private medical centre or major public hospital is preferred.
Clean professional practice record with no adverse legal claims.
