Key Responsibilities
Pharmaceutical Care & Medication Management
Ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of prescribed medications in accordance with medical prescriptions, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines.
Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, dosage, potential drug interactions, and contraindications to ensure patient safety.
Provide professional pharmaceutical care and medication counseling to patients, ensuring clear understanding of dosage instructions, medication usage, and potential side effects.
Monitor medication therapy and collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize treatment effectiveness and patient outcomes.
Clinical Collaboration & Patient Support
Work closely with doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to support patient treatment plans and ensure coordinated healthcare delivery.
Provide drug information, pharmaceutical recommendations, and evidence-based guidance to medical teams when required.
Assist in promoting patient education regarding medication adherence, chronic disease management, and overall health awareness.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Board regulations, healthcare standards, and internal hospital protocols.
Maintain accurate records related to medication dispensing, inventory management, and pharmaceutical documentation.
Uphold medication safety standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy services.
Inventory & Operational Management
Monitor pharmaceutical inventory levels and ensure proper storage, handling, and stock management of medications and medical supplies.
Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to maintain adequate medication availability and prevent shortages.
Ensure compliance with licensing requirements and pharmaceutical operational standards.
Professionalism & Continuous Development
Maintain professionalism, ethical conduct, and patient confidentiality at all times.
Participate actively in continuous learning, professional development programs, and pharmacy-related training to stay updated with industry advancements.
Contribute positively to organizational goals and support initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and healthcare excellence.
Requirements & Qualifications
Degree or Master’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
Registered with the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Board and qualified for License A.
Pleasant personality with excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Strong ability to interact effectively with people at all levels, including patients, healthcare professionals, and management teams.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining professionalism and service excellence.
