Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Officer to provide high-quality, patient-centred care to oncology patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. The role involves supporting oncologists and nursing teams in delivering coordinated, holistic care while maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualised, holistic, and culturally sensitive medical care to oncology inpatients and outpatients.
Work closely with Oncologists and Nursing Teams to support clinical care, patient education, guidance, and ongoing treatment.
Assist in the implementation of specialist-led treatment plans and ensure safe, effective patient care.
Coordinate with primary and secondary healthcare providers to facilitate seamless, patient-focused care.
Ensure appropriate documentation, accurate billing, and compliance with established clinical protocols.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records in the Patient Management System (PMS).
Maintain professional competency through ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) and comply with MMC and MOH standards.
Maintain strict confidentiality and protect patient privacy at all times.
Maintain comprehensive professional records and documentation in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements.
Participate in meetings, training, and other professional activities as required.
Requirements:
Registered with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) with a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
Minimum 4 years of relevant clinical experience.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient engagement skills.
Compassionate, professional, and patient-focused approach.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Willingness to work shifts and undertake additional duties when required.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
Preferred:
Experience or strong interest in Palliative Care or Hospice Care is highly desirable.
Experience working with oncology patients will be an advantage.
Additional Information:
Treatment planning is managed by Specialist Doctors; Medical Officers will support the execution and monitoring of treatment plans.
