Staff Nurse (Night Shift)

Sunway Medical Centre Penang is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. This role is ideal for nursing professionals who are passionate about ensuring efficient patient flow, optimizing bed utilization, and supporting seamless coordination across multiple hospital departments.

As part of the clinical operations team, you will play a critical role in facilitating timely admissions, coordinating patient transfers, and maintaining effective communication among healthcare teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and allocate hospital beds based on clinical urgency, infection control requirements, gender and age considerations, and specialty-specific needs.
Manage urgent patient admissions from the Emergency Department (ED), Operating Theatre (OT), Day Care/Day Ward, and direct specialist referrals.
Facilitate smooth and timely patient transfers between departments to ensure continuity of care.
Monitor and optimize hospital bed utilization to support efficient patient flow and resource management.
Maintain accurate patient information and ensure timely data entry and submission of daily operational reports.
Respond promptly to emergency codes and coordinate the necessary actions in accordance with hospital protocols.
Foster strong interdepartmental collaboration and effective communication to enhance service delivery.
Provide ongoing support, guidance, and supervision to nursing and support staff when required.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and quality assurance practices.
Contribute to maintaining a safe, patient-centered environment while delivering compassionate nursing care.

Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
Registered Nurse with the Malaysia Nursing Board and possession of a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
Willingness to work night shifts and adapt to operational requirements.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, infection control, and high standards of professional nursing practice.
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in fast-paced and high-pressure situations.
