Key Responsibilities
Staff Nurse – General Anaesthesia (GA)
As a GA Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting patients throughout the perioperative journey by:
Delivering safe and efficient nursing care in accordance with Operating Theatre policies and procedures.
Preparing, organizing, and maintaining a clean and safe operating theatre environment.
Inspecting and monitoring surgical and anaesthetic equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Managing patient admission and care in the pre-operative holding bay.
Assisting with patient positioning while ensuring comfort and safety.
Supporting the Anaesthetist during procedures as required.
Safely handling, checking, witnessing, and administering controlled and scheduled medications.
Maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection prevention standards.
Providing comprehensive post-operative care in the recovery bay.
Monitoring airway patency, vital signs, pain management, and identifying post-operative complications before patient handover.
Coordinating with ward staff for smooth patient transfers.
Reporting operating list changes to the Senior Nurse, Head Nurse, or Theatre Coordinator.
Staff Nurse – Scrub
As a Scrub Nurse, you will contribute to safe and efficient surgical procedures by:
Performing duties as a Scrub Nurse or Circulating Nurse in accordance with Operating Theatre policies.
Preparing sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies before surgery.
Conducting instrument, swab, and needle counts with another nurse and reporting results to the Surgeon.
Assisting the surgical team throughout operative procedures.
Preparing and cleaning operating theatres before and after surgery.
Assisting with patient positioning while ensuring safety and comfort.
Handling, labeling, and dispatching surgical specimens accurately.
Maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
Monitoring the performance and functionality of surgical equipment.
Providing support to Surgeons during operative procedures.
Maintaining accurate patient documentation and theatre records.
Reporting changes to operating schedules to the Senior Nurse, Head Nurse, or Theatre Coordinator.
Coordinating the booking and availability of specialized equipment, implants, instruments, and surgical supplies prior to scheduled procedures.
What We’re Looking For
Registered Nurse with a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC) or relevant professional registration.
Experience in Operating Theatre, General Anaesthesia, or Scrub Nursing is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and infection prevention protocols.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
